| Can anyone give any reviews of these Cobras I read about here? I am curious about their consistency and shine, (I like a more, satin, often even matte look) | |

| The Cobras have a more fluid consistency than W/N Artisans. Also, the Cobras have more shine to start with. The shine should be made to your taste when you varnish your painting. For example there are Matte, Satin, and Glossy varnishes that you seal your painting with after they are sufficiently dry. Dayle | |

| Hi Dayle, Thank you, yes I know. But some paints just are naturally so glossy and I don't love that.... Great to know about the Cobras!!! One brand down, only a few more to find out before I make a final decision. (But the current leader is Artisan! ) | |

| I use Grumbacher Max from the day they invented water miscible oils. I also use Artisan. The two brands are similar and compatable with each other. They are firm and maybe too dry for some people, but I prefer that. You can easily soften a firm paint with oil, but what would you do with a too soft oily paint?
I have tried every other brand except Lukas Berlin. Although I think Holbein makes superb paint, I also think they are over priced. The worst paint I tried over the years was Van Gogh H2oils. I dont know what oil they used in it, but it wasnt linseed oil. | |

| Hello All:
I used the Artisan WSO for a while but struggled a lot, escpecially with the Yellows. I have found Grumbacher, MAX and absolutely love how it works on the canvas. But that is me. I know quite a few people on this forum are using it and have done so successfully.
Thanks
