| Hi everyone! Yes I'm still alive. Hubby was out of town for a couple of weeks so I ended up being stuck out at camp. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm way behind on my work so I only have time for a short note but I'll check back when I have more time. | |

| Now it is the last day of September, mist, rain, but a hint of sunshine. Typical UK confused weather. I'ts got to improve cos I'm going out on a photoshoot soon. Middle of the Peak District moors. Jack | |

| Torrential rains here and expecting flooding. The leaves are perfect, but the rain will probably knock down the deep reds which appear first. Did a photo shoot last weekend but there wasn't much color yet.

| Jack, I hope you'll share your Peak District moor photos with us I hope everyone gets their home repairs done before winter sets in!!! It's finally cool enough for some plein-air painting here, but it's very windy. I think we're going from summer to winter with no fall in between. I've got to get our Challenge subjects up - will have a look around later and see what everyone's been working on | |

| Couldn't find anything for October Chat. Anyway, I broke my hip a week ago today, Sept 26. Today is my first day back at the computer. I iimagine it will be a bit longer before I can try to paint again--my foot is supposed to be elevated and I haven't yet figured out how to do that and Paint at the same time. Good to hear you are all doing well.

| Sorry about your hip. I hope you can figure out a way to paint. Maybe you'll just have to settle for a few very small ones your can do on a lay table...maybe colored pencils instead of paint. Take care of yourself.

| Hi Dayle: Sorry to hear about your hip. Best of luck for a smooth recovery. Perhaps you could do some drawing in a sketch pad until you are well enough to paint again? | |

| Thanks all of you for your kind wishes and suggestions. Actually, there is very little pain, and they started me on some physical therapy right after surgery. I'm lucky to have a large church community praying for me, and the doctors and nurses seem surprised at how fast I am recovering already. I was in the middle of painting my first portrait and actually a little excited about it, although it still needs lots of work on it. Maybe I'll take this time to figure out how to use my photoshop elements 6.0. Maybe by the time I'm well, I'll even figure out how to load a picture here. Thanks for all of your concern.

| Dayle - you can "paint" in Elements. No preparations, no clean up, everything you need in one place. Experiment with the brushes and have fun with it. It's a great way to stay creative when actual painting would be inconvenient. | |
