Is camping safe in the smoky mountains nat'l park?

I live very close to the smokeys and it is very safe. Their are several black bears but usually don't encounter people as long as you keep camp clean and food but up i've been camping there at least 4-6 week every summer for the last 10 to 12 years. I've had my food stolen by bear but never threatened by them. When the see you they always retreat in my experiences.

I see you found your way around. I bet that you have some beautiful photos from there. Have you painted any of them. I drive through the area at least once a year and have always been impressed with the scenery. If you want to share any photos, you can put them into the Reference Image Library (RIL) which is accessible only to members.
