| Awesome!… Very un-belabored work. Fantastic! This is the path to improvement. Keep painting my friend (For some reason, my previous response got lost in the ether?) | |

| These are all so detailed for the time involved! And I like that they're on toned/colored paper - I've seen sketches with less detail framed and hung.

| Thanks Faisal and Jan! The models are good to work with, which makes my sketches go smoothly. Some have poses that are really creative and interesting, allowing us (the group) to loosen up and get into faster seeing+sketching. | |

| Awesome Job Alan, These are a beauty to be framed. I love your bold decisive marks and it exudes confidence. As someone said a confidently placed mark in the wrong spot makes a stronger art than a flaccid mark in the correct place. | |

| How you could draw anything like this in 1 minute is beyond me. Great job. | |

| Thanks Crystal. We do these quick gesture drawings in preparation for the longer poses. Ironically, I tend to like these drawings better than the 10 and 20 minute ones. I think the idea that I have 1 minute to draw a pose gives me a challenge, and I just try to capture whatever I can.
I have found that I just look at the model in quick glimpses, and then try to relay that information on the page, without taking the pencil too far away from the paper at any time. So, a lot of scribbly lines, some of which are accurate and others that look like noodling, ha ha | |

| Thanks Faisal. I am posting a sketch now and then to 'stay in the game'. Most are not Family Friendly, so I am quite choosy about which ones to share. | |

| Awesome. Urban Sketching is all the rage these days… Check out the link below.
I lovvvveeee sketching… very primal, don't you think!… That is what our caveman ancestor did with a piece of coal on the cave…

| Interesting site, Faisal. Yes, we are like the cavemen, recording what is in front of us. I still don't have the nerve to sit close to people in cafes who know I am drawing them. Oh well, that is another good reason to go to life drawing I guess.... but yes, I do a few impromptu sketches at the mall now and then.. | |

| It is fun watching your progress. You seem to be accomplishing so much more in the 15 minutes than you did when you first started. If you have any matboard laying around from matting a painting, it is terrific as a base for chalks similar to the construction paper, but firm. | |
