And for all of you getting ready to enjoy the long July 1st weekend here in the States... Hope everyone has a great time! If any one gets some good fireworks photos... feel free to post some in the photo galleries!

I took a bunch one year, but the colors all fade out with the brightness of the light. Maybe a better camera where I could control exposure would work. but I have no clue as tohow to go about that.

Thanks Callie - it was a sort of damp July First but I had my mom over and baked a strawberry cake and made burritos, so we had a nice quiet celebration just the three of us. And then later, when Ky had his nap, I got a couple more hours in on my painting while my mom read a book - she really wants me to get it finished!

None of my fireworks photos are any good, guess I either need to get another lens or get closer to the show We can see the fireworks downtown (about 5 - 6 miles away) from a park across the street. The coffee shop crew next door will be having a bar-b-que for the fourth, I'm bringing a giant jug of margueritas

I'll be photographing a small parade with the fire department volunteering a truck and boat to add to the excitement for the children. We'll have fireworks the next week after our Country Days celebration where I set up my art for sale. I'm going to try using my video camera for the fireworks to see if I get better pictures. I can isolate frames in the video to make pictures.

We are having friends and family over for dinner -- today my husband is taking lots of pictures down at the historical boats and near the Puget Sound, he called and said that there is sooooo many things to take pictures of -- I'm glad he's enjoying himself....he needs that after a having a hurt leg which seems to be healing slowly.

I'm excited to see all your pictures from the 4th - I will look for them in the postings - hope they turn out for you all!...it's been overcast and drizzly here, but it usually is until after the 4th, when our summer really starts here in Seattle.

I know I am a bit late - but happy 1st and 4th to everyone. It is my birthday today and the office gave me a gift certificate for Currys. yahoo - more art supplies.

Yeah. Hubby is making me a dinner with scallops and we have guests for dinner and Monday I get to see "Celtic women" perform. Love them.

Dale, How exciting. I love the Celtic Women also. I just get to see them on PBS. I'm envious.

I've seen Celtic Women on PBS a few times, but never live, it looks like they put on a great show - have fun! ....And let us know how you make out at Curry's. Do they have the new Cobra ws oils yet?

I did rec' the red Cobra but haven't had a chance to do any painting. I managed to hurt my ribs last week. No sleep - no deep breathing - no walking. Lots of eating. Oops I just felt my waist size go up an inch.

Hope they're getting better.
