| I have started on another painting. This time I painted the background black and am working a little more loosely. I can't seem to upload my photo tonight for some reason | |

| Hi Dale, if you're having problems with uploading a photo we now have another option that is really straightforward. Select post reply, below the post area you will see options. Select the + sign at the very right of this options area and you will see the TinyPic Image uploader. I've been using exclusively now and it works great. Just copy and past into your message the "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards". I'm really looking forward to see the new painting you're working on. | |

| Dale, I'm loving where you're going with this one. The brushwork looks very loose and expressive. | |

| I love to "watch" you paint. Off to a great start as usual! How are those boats coming along? | |

| Looking good. I'm sure it will be as beautiful as the first Fundy Trail you did.
Janet it might be good to mention that the Filebox option only shows after you have pressed Preview for your post.

| I did a bit more on this but not enough worth posting. And the Dory's? I just worked for the afternoon on them - Got my magnifying glasses on to do the detail work even though I still haven't worked very hard on the right boat. May post something later. | |

| I might be tempted to use a palette knife on this one or not touch a small brush as to keep the looseness for a change. | |

| Good luck with the palette knife. Every time I've tried it, the painting comes looking like it is suited for Down the Drain.

| Worked on this a lot tonight but too late to bother posting it. I did use a palette knife and really got some great effects with the evergreens, rocks and bushes. Hope to post it Sunday evening maybe. | |

| I'm looking forward to seeing your update. I've always wanted to try working with a palette knife. Maybe some day. | |

| I thought I should place a rock or fisherman on the left in front of the bank. Your thoughts? | |

| Dale your painting looks great! You certainly know how to wield a palette knife. I think a fisherman would look great! Ok I love paintings with figures in it so my answer will always be add a figure. | |

| And I keep forgetting to put birds in paintings. I think they add so much. I also thought I could add a hint of clouds to break up all the sky. Not too much to distract from the landscape but enough to give some variation to that area. | |

| Someone fishing would be a good way to add some focus. I'm thinking about birds for my painting too. If done right, they give it a more natural look (when do you not see birds outside), but they could end up looking rather cartoonish if not done well. I guess it depends on how confident you are with painting them - I'm sure you can handle them just fine! | |

| Thanks Callie. It will be new to me so I will try to avoid cartoony birds or something that looked like a bird dropped it on the painting | |
