| We skipped painting at the Park today, it's windy and raining on top of cold Just hung out at the coffee shop and and made some sketches to get started on the next challenge painting. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! | |

| Sorry to hear about the bad weather Callie. I'm looking forward to seeing your next painting for the challenge. I'll be testing out different underpainting methods on some portraits to work up to a larger painting on canvas. I purchased Roxio Creator 2010 to create DVDs of videos and step by steps on painting. Great software but I'll be at it for a while. | |

| Sounds like a fun Project, Janet! Guess it won't be long before you start popping up all over YouTube I'm tempted to start one of the paintings now (instead of working on a logo design - where did these people get the idea I work 24/7, just for them ). I think I've just talked myself into a computer-free afternoon! Looking forward to seeing your under painting methods | |

| I'm enjoying scouring the net for demos. I don't think I'll be popping up on YouTube anytime soon unless its a video on not what to do. Sounds like you have some demanding clients. I hope you went with the computer free afternoon.

| Janet I've used Roxie for years and really like it. We had rain and wind in Tucson, too, but really neat result once the tornado watch passed. I spent yesterday traveling around the mountain to get some really neat pictures. this is from behind my son's house. My grand children let me through thier trails to get to this picture. I'll go through some aof them and post them in the RIL. judy | |

| This will be interesting - and so different from the east coast of Canada. I spent the weekend tiling the backsplash of my kitchen so no painting done. | |

| Since I've been back I've only painted one painting besides my daily ones. So many pesky things come up that take me away from painting. I'm hoping to finally get an undisturbed painting day tomorrow. | |

| Sofie, I hope you succeed in having an undisturbed painting day. I'm finding it difficult to make time to paint as well. | |

| good morning all I just had a minute so I wanted to say hello and let you know I added a few pictures to the rl. I am not sure but I think I am making them to small, if that’s the case let me know and I can make the next ones bigger. Also I was not sure what category to put one of them so I stuck it in the landscape section, its from a fair and one I keep looking at to paint, just not sure I want to tackle it yet but would love to see a painting of it! Heading down to turn the heat on in the studio going to clean my stalls then paint paint paint!! Have a great one! | |

| Dawn, The picture sizes are good. I wouldn't go any smaller though. I'm thinking of organizing the RIL a little differently so that when we have 5000 pictures, you'll be able to find the topic you are looking for more easily. I have to work on it for right now. thanks for sharing. Judy | |

| Thanks for the photos, Dawn! That carnival ride would make a really interesting painting. | |

| Just thought I'd visit. Haven't posted for a while cos I'm not painting at the moment. Well I am, but it's walls and ceilings. Difficult to get artistic about them. When I've made the lumber room look habitable I'll try and get on with 'Frustration'. Will post that again in WIP. In the meantime best wishes to all. Jack | |

| Been off forums most of the month - I had to write an essay about the development of funerary architecture in ancient Egypt. I actually have had time to paint only twice this month. After all when you start with oils, you need to paint longer than for 15 minutes at a time LOL. Leena | |

| Hi Leena I understand. I always try to give myself 2 hours for a good painting session. If I paint in short bursts then I am guaranteed a spoilt painting. Best wishes and I hope you will enjoy a good painting session soon. Jack | |

| Hi Leena! Great to have you back. Sounds like an interesting subject to write about. Did you start with the mastaba and go into the Greek-Roman period? My painting session usually last about 5 hours. | |

| Leena, While you were gone, we put out a newsletter which covers all the different categories and forums to give people an overview of what they can find here. I sent you one in you PM in early January, but I'm not sure if you ever opened it. I have since cleared out ones that were not opened, but you can find a copy at https://watersolubleoils.forumotion.com/general-chat-f4/forum-news-and-announcements-t140.htmI hope you have a chance to look at it. People have been finding it helpful in identifying areas that they would like to participate in. Welcome back. Judy | |

| Leena - Good to hear from you, how is your Egyptian hieroglyph painting going? I'm amazed at how you can keep the proportions so perfect with no drawing on the panel to follow. It's an incredible piece of work, but that makes it even more amazing to me! See the 3rd post in this thread: https://watersolubleoils.forumotion.com/introduce-yourself-f3/hi-everyone-t9.htmJack - sorry to hear your painting sessions aren't very enjoyable, but maybe you'll be able to relax and enjoy your "real" painting once you have that out of the way | |
