40th Painting: Good Doggie

Here is another wonderful little cup in the shape of a dogs head. What caught my attention was its irregularity on the rim and the general rough look it had in some places. Once again courtesy of my local dollar store.

I am Ok with the results. It should have been better, considering the time I spent on it... Oh! well can't win 'em all. We need failure to instill humility into us...

I think you do so well on these. You're paintings never look flat and your light and shadows are good. Congrats.

These dollar store objects are great subjects to paint. And I can imagine the difficulty in painting a realistic version of a cartoon dog head mug. Maybe a stronger tone in the interior shadow and in the blue shadow on the table might help. Ah well, another great try. Keep plugging!
