How to Post an Image with Image Venue Empty
PostSubject: How to Post an Image with Image Venue   How to Post an Image with Image Venue EmptySat Jan 18, 2014 3:12 pm

I guess the forum owners have a couple of options for posting images here. Judy posted on Tiny URL's terms of use and I doubt if anyone would want to use them. The other option as of right now is Image Venue. While I was trying to figure it out, I got several screenshots of the process which are posted below:

First open either a new message or click on Post Reply to another message. The process should look like this:

[img=http://img184.imagevenue.com/loc715/th_65392_ImagePosting1_122_715lo.jpg]
[img=http://img179.imagevenue.com/loc153/th_65395_ImagePosting2_122_153lo.jpg]
[img=http://img205.imagevenue.com/loc396/th_65395_ImageURLScreenshot1_122_396lo.jpg]
[img=http://img145.imagevenue.com/loc354/th_65396_ImageUrlScreenshot2_122_354lo.jpg]

After your image URL is copied, return to the message and paste the URL into the message.

Well, the thumbnails are not showing up but you would have to click on them to enlarge anyway and it shouldn't be more difficult to click on the link instead.

If you have another image hosting site with your image on it, you can use it to show your image in a message here by doing the following:

1. Make sure HTML is enabled

2. See how to use an img src tag in html at: http://webdesign.about.com/od/beginningtutorials/a/aabg120598i.htm I can't post the formatted tag because it won't show up as the tag here! Anyway, type the tag in your message where you want the image. Delete anything between the quote marks as this is where your new image URL will be pasted.

3. Go to your image host and find the photo you want. Click on it to make sure it's the only image selected then go up to your browser window and highlight and copy what's there. This is your image URL.

4. Go back to the message where you want the image and the html code you typed there. Click BETWEEN the quote marks and paste your image URL there. Your image should show up in your message.

Hope this helps

Jan

Thanks for your input on the second option. I never use it because I always use the icon on the menu above the post (No longer available on the first post page for some unknown reason). Here are two of the picture to help you get started. The full explanation is at:

doing it this way automatically puts the img src tag in for you, making it much easier.

If you want to be able to see the picture rather than the link, click on "switch edit mode."
How to Post an Image with Image Venue Switch10 Only do this one or you lose the link (again for some unknown reason.
Also be aware that once you hit preview, you lose the menu choices....Unknown reason.

Here is the explanation for getting a picture that all ready has a url from a website or where ever.
Again, the full explanation is at

Getting the url information is as simple as right clicking on the picture you want and scrolling down the menuthat comes up to "view image info." It will show the highlighted url.

Thanks, Judy,

The only problem is that I don't get that menu which is why I had to post the way I did. Do you all still get a menu when you post photos? Wonder why I don't get one? If you look at the screenshot in the thread where I posted my water media paintings, you can see the window I get for posting a reply - there's NO MENU AT ALL and I don't know why. Any thoughts on it? I really don't like going around my elbow to get to my thumb to post pictures! I thought maybe the forum owners had changed it all or something and I was trying to be helpful for others who didn't get menus either. If I'm the only one who doesn't get a menu, please delete this thread as it isn't relevant to anyone else but me.

I'm leaving it and moving to a new forum under Discussion called Posting Images. I'll see if I can figure out why you don't get a menu but it may take a while. Loved your painting BTW.

Thanks Judy. I'm checking my settings but as far as I know, I haven't changed anything. Was going to post an image (but decided not to) around Christmas and I had a menu then. Weird!
