| A few images from life drawing session on Sept 4. Burnt Sienna heavily thinned for background. Top layer painted during session was a mix of Burnt Sienna and Titanium White Artisan WSO paint. Paper canvas sheets. | |

| Twenty minute sketch, first roughed in pencil. I've slipped the paper to the cardboard backer to allow it to sit flat for the snapshot. | |

| In the one with the woman bent forward, it just feels like her skin is glistening with perspiration. Both are very well done. | |

| Thanks for the compliments, Judy. I was certainly perspiring, perhaps I was 'projecting' that. (It WAS a warm humid night actually) | |

| Good Job Alan,… I like the first one most. The second one seems too heavily censored so can't make much out of it… | |

| Thanks Faisal. Some poses lend themselves more to general visibility than others. Oh well, that's the deal, and I am grateful to have this forum in which to share the sketches. | |

| Really nice, Alan. Your skin tones are always so right on. | |

| Thanks Jan. I am always trying to simplify the approach, especially in these quick paintings. I apply the thinned background, and onsite at the session, I premix a couple of midtones, so I can paint faster when the 'bell rings'. This way, I can quickly block in white, dark, and maybe 2 midtones, before I need to blend edges and mix intermediate tones. All about being fast. otherwise I finish the session and the sketch is missing a limb or head, ha ha | |
