| Here is the final version of the barn painting. It is on a 16 x 20 stretched canvas that had been previously painted on. I was experimenting with a different method of under painting than I am use to. You can see the step in the WIP (Barn Painting). I used mainly Cobra paints including cobalt blue, pyrrole red, permanent yellow light, titanium white, and sap green. I also used DUO raw siena and W/N burnt umber. I used the Cobra painting medium in progressive layers and the Cobra Glazing medium to make final minor color changes. Judy | |

| This one turned out really well, Judy. I like the way you captured the sun hitting the tree and background treeline area, and the foreground more subdued. And I love the sky! | |

| Thanks Alan,
I took another sunset photo around the same time and it was pretty fascinating so I might paint that next. How're the snow drifts going? | |

| Ha, it was a week of melting. The front yard snow is about only 2 feet high now, and the snowbanks are down to 4 ft of dirty, icy stuff. More rain in the forecast, and highs of 9 degrees C / 48F. Thanks for asking. | |

| I like the way the under painting made it easier to add colors on top and get special effects from the under painting showing through. I'm glad I ventured away from the original instructional video to make it more interesting. I worked on it while participating in the webinar Dale recommended and that definitely made me look more at abstract shapes and three value mapping. I still see areas that could be improved on so this might not be then end of it.

| Thanks Dana,
I've made a few minor additions of color to the barn to break up the boring shape and dead looking window and door openings

| Judy I'm looking forward to seeing the updated version. One comment from me is that the foreground colours are great but there is a degree of uniformity in the lines of the grass and soil between. unless of course it something being cultivated. It is tremendously cheerful. Jack | |

| That is one of the areas I also wasn't satisfied with. I've made some changes, but I want to look at it a litte more before I post it again. Thanks for the input.

| Vivid colours! I like the way the remaining light of day brightens the tree-line. | |

| I redid the barn painting to add more interest to the entire thing. I always felt that the best part of the painting was the sky so I tried not to block it too much with the tree in the foreground. Now I feel like it is finished. any comments would be appreciated | |

| I think the bare tree is really strong, and helps bring your eye into the painting, and along to the barn and background tree. Nice work! | |
