Hi All,

Love the snow, Jim, Especially since I'm looking at it from Southern Arizona. We are expecting frost again tonight but thank goodness I'm not in northern NY where I am in the summer..

Hiya
I'm harking back to one of Sofie's posts under work in progress. The reference to mosaic.
Just got the International Artist and am wondering if, Sofie, you know the work of Peter Stuhlmann a Canadian artist. If you don't you might like to google him. His work, like yours is very distinctive. I like it. Hope you do.
Lol

Just wanted to share this link. It's fantastic you can view paintings at such a high res that you can see the paint strokes.

Okay, some people would say that this looks as if I had photoshopped my previous photo to simulate the amount of snow we've had...

I-believe it. But you just got what we in New Brunswick could spare. Our snow is soooo high that Santa would have had to dig to find our chimney Laughing

OK. So I exagerated - but we have had enough snow! Did I even spell that correctly.

I need to tell you about this webinar I am taking part in. 12 week - every Saturday and Sunday for two hours each day. We send in homework which may get critiqued. I am so very excited about painting (not that I wasn't before) but I have learned so much from Johannes. Last week was on cropping. People sent in their before and after photos...and it really struck home that we had learned something. If you are a Wetcanvas member and want to check it out - look under Landscape/browse channel/Partner Channel or search for Johannes Vloothius. Then look for the thread on cropped photos and you will see some lesson learned.

Has anybody tryed the Masterson Stay-Wet Palette with WMOs? My old Masterson palette doesn't want to seal anymore, and I wondered how the Stay-Wet Palette works with WMOs.
Thanks,
Dayle

Dale, the webinar Saturday and Sunday were phenomenal. I learned so much. I check some of my paintings and found a few problems but it is too late for them. I've been working on a painting using an instructional DVD (see WIP) but now I'm having problems continuing it since it goes so much against the interesting negative spaces and avoiding long straight lines. I'm going to get back to it and try to carry out some of the principals from the seminar. Thanks for telling us about it.

Dayle,
I've been using the stay wet pallet with WSO's and it works well. I cut a piece of glass to fit in the bottom of it so I can scrape paint off when I needs more blending space.

Thanks Judy. I was just reminded about putting petroleum jelly around the edges of the Masterson Palette. I tried it on my 8 year old Masterson Palette and it is sealing, but I don't think it will last much longer. Will definitely try the Sta-Wet Palette. I've been able to do a litte bit of oil painting this month, but not much. My hip repair didn't heal right, so I'm scheduled for a hip replacement surgery soon. I'm just glad that they are still to able to get me walking sometime soon. Happy painting!

Dayle

Dayle sorry to hear about the problems with your him replacement. Thank you for the tip for the Masterson Palette. I have 3 but I haven't used them for WSOs.

Dayle,
I'm sorry to hear about your hip not healing right. Hopefully the hip replacement will solve the problem. I'll say an extra prayer for you. Thanks for the tip about the petroleum jelly.

I've entitled this one "I Surrender". Or is "Yellow Snow Swan"?
15 cm more coming today. Where will we put it? We'll put it on top of what we have now!
