David good point. I guess the artists are going to be the ones that test these things out.

I bought the Artisan satin varnish and used it for the first time today. The great thing about it is it is completely odourless and dries quickly. I think I'll order it in the larger size next time.

I've got some paintings that have been dry for a year. I think I will venture putting some artisan varnish on them. Thanks for the info.
