| I looked at the photograph some more, and I think he doesn't have any teeth! Anyway, your painting matches the photograph.

| I think apples prefer to run in packs  I've been stuck on the computer for awhile now, haven't touched my painting in more than a week. Have to get another project done tonight. Maybe I'll get back to it this weekend. | |

| Callie: I can sure tell you've put a lot of effort into those apples! I agree with Sofie--it feels like you could just reach in and eat one. I would consider it finished if I'd done that, but can't wait to see what they look like when you're done.

| In real life - I'm still seeing a lot of black background showing through the green. So I guess a few more layers are needed to get the coloring and shadows down. I'm putting a wasp in the upper left area, too. | |

| I think the wasp flew in from all the old dutch masterworks I've come across in the Art Hist. Challenge. So many of the still life paintings have bugs in them. Life in the days before food was kept in a fridge and windows had screens!  | |

I've seen some of those old dutch masterworks and wondered "what's up with the bugs". I think you explained it.
