| Following images are recently done, watercolours from life drawing sessions. Times range from 5-15 minutes. I am messing around with cheap brushes, and paper with high rag content, and Walmart watercolour paper. Fun, and good training for brush/hand coordination. | |

| I thought this one would be okay without blurring; let me know if it needs some. This is just one colour wash. | |

| Ten minute sketch from Thursday night. 15 minutes, lots of colour in this, fun to experiment. Different model, a few weeks ago. Different model again, obviously. | |

| Thanks for the kind words, Faisal! Ah, the internet; not a place to show too much! I have considered placing the original scans on our painting site, but I still get the sense that the 'casual' viewer is not ready for that. There would need to be a "yes, I am 18 and not offended" button, I guess. It's fun to try to capture the likenesses with runny, independent-minded paints! | |

| Totally understood Alan. I don't think you should worry about offending people. This is clearly art and very artistic and if people want to see hanky-panky stuff they can visit those sites which are more explicit. However, it is totally understood… | |

| Congratulations, Alan! You handle those "runny, independent-minded paints" like a pro! Also, I'm "older" and came up with a different set of values than those of this current generation and I'm not offended by life drawings. I think most people know the difference between art and porno. Just my 2 cents. | |

| Hi Jan, thanks for your comments. I'm aware that this forum can be visited by anyone, so with that in mind, I keep the visuals to the PG rating. But the main thing is that it's fun to be able to share images I am experimenting with... | |

| I really love these sketches with watercolor. I always seem to enjoy things that are colorful more than black and white. I'm sorry that you have to continue to blur the images, but I just feel it is necessary for this forum to prevent other, less scrupulous, people from expanding it into pornography rather than art. | |

| Hi Judy Thanks for your comments. I have no problem with blurring the images, and completely understand why we do it here. I 'could' post them on my own website, but also choose not to post them there either. I have been doing life drawings in one form or another for a long time, and tend to be rather relaxed and liberal about it. But many many people are not, and I just don't want to have to deal with that, so blurring parts of the images is not a deal breaker | |

| Thanks Alan, Keep up the wonderful work. I've been in a kind of a slump in painting recently and just don't seem to be able to come up with something that really excites me. Probably due to all the creative mechanical work I've been doing on my van. | |

| Very well done. The watercolor adds so much and I imagine in one way it makes it easier or harder; I'm not sure. It looks like you don't do as much sketching since the colors are used for shaping.
I'm still trying to take some time for watercolor, but always seem to get side track with something else. I especially like the abstract coloring you used in the earlier ones. That is what I would like to achieve in mine, but I continue to have trouble visualizing that.

| Thanks Judy and Jan. I do a very rough sketch in pencil, then paint on top of it. I mix paint on a piece of scrap watercolour paper, then apply it to the painting, so it is quite impulsive and arbitrary. If it goes on too red, for example, I will water it down on the painting, and add another colour. Fun chaos.
In case I am confusing anyone, the 4 minute sketch is the black and white one. I am having a good time painting and drawing loose(ly), sometimes holding the marker at the very end, like a paint brush, so the lines are scratchy and weird, instead of measured and accurate. Can you tell I get easily bored, ha ha
