Cool Haircut - Another Cafe Sketch

This gentleman had a very cool haircut. I don't think my 30minute sketch captured it too well. I did show him the sketch and he was very appreciative.

I so admire you for being able to sketch in public and then show the "model" the results! I can see why the man was appreciative though. I'm amazed that you accomplished this much in only 30 minutes!

I admire you, too. I have never been successful at trying some sketching live, especially a portrait.

Nice sketch Faisal! Did you use conté or pencil crayon?
I am a little hesitant to sketch people nearby without asking them first, then I am hesitant to ask!

Thanks Alan, I used Pastel Pencils. Red-Brown, Brown-Black and white. (I can give you the exact names and brand if you wish… the pencils are in my car… so just being lazy… )

You should never ask for permission. That will be too much pressure on yourself. Sketch first and then show it to them. I sketch mostly in Barnes & Noble bookstore and I am realizing that people who come here will usually be nice.
