I've pretty much considered pastel my primary medium although I work in several of them. Here are a couple of my older works:

Absolutely gorgeous. I love both of them. I started out with pastels when I first resumed painting in y 50's, but I was never this good. They are great.

Thanks to you both - I was just trying to fill an empty category here and didn't expect your enthusiastic response. I was surprised to find that the soft pastels had an easier learning curve for me than other media because I'm not normally a sketcher and even dislike drawing to a large extent.

Anyway, thanks so much, it's very gratifying.

Wow! I've always loved pastels, but I'm afraid of the mess. These are such beautiful masterpieces already. You're a great artist. Thanks so much for letting us see these.

Well, I do manage to get it all over the place but have learned how to control it somewhat with bath towels under my easel and workspace.

Thanks so much, Alan. I'll probably do more in pastel but am trying to get away from any media that needs framing under glass.

I just set up a new Fine Art America page if you want to see more of my pastels. The link is in my signature below.
