I haven't used my WS tubes (Holbein duos) for a year or so, and they are so stuck I can't open them! Any suggestions?

Try using a pair of pliers. If that doesn't work try soaking them cap down in hot water, try mineral spirits if the water doesn't work.

last ditch effort is to cut the ends off and squeeze the paint into new empty tubes. You can but them at most art store. I know most Dick Blick's Artists materials carry them individuallly. Daniel Smith sells them online in packs of 12.
