It's so difficult to photograph a painting. I look at my own photos, and usually don't think they're great. There is the question of being faithful to the painting, so does one boost the image levels so the final image on the computer screen resembles the painting? But the monitor is a backlit screen, and the painting isn't. No easy answer.
This is a nice representation of the piggie, and you have really captured the reflections and texture of 'him'. For some reason, 'his' face reminds me of the work of Brad Holland, the editorial cartoonist/painter. If you are not familiar with him, it would be worth a look to see what I mean.
I also like the risks you take with colour, in the background, and subject. The colours you work with are challenging, I would think. Looking forward to number 60.
