I still did not get to my portrait... I have been watching a lot of videos and preparing myself for it. I am suffering from "paralysis by analysis"... Smile.

Well for the time being here is a Glass vase and flowers.... My garage is turning into an oven... argggh!!!

Size: 5" x 7"
Time taken: spent a little time everyday over several days...

As always all constructive criticisms are welcome... Smile

Hmm, your garage is an oven, but you managed to catch this image before the water all evaporated:)

I like how you are working with edges; the left and right curved sides of the vase have softness. That really contrasts with the stem and water surface. I wonder if you could explore even more softness, for example the far edge of the water.

Very nice Faisal, the muted light also adding a nice understated voice to this composition!

Hi Alan,

The water and the flower are both fake... Smile

Yes!  the far edge of the water definetly needs softening... the hard lines are making it come forward.

Thanks

Faisal

I agree with Alan  about the water. I just love the way you paint vases, giving them just the right amount of reflections  to give them shape. The flowers feel almost translucent. Maybe you wife will let you take over the kitchen for the summer since you paint so many object from the kitchen. LOL

Just be careful that she doesn't give you the cooking and cleanup duties as well! lol

This is really nice, Faisal. I like how you do flowers and pay attention when you post any.

Is there any way to use a window a/c unit in the garage just while you're painting? It's probably not an insulated garage but maybe would help enough for brief painting sessions???

Hi Jan,

Yes! I am considering looking at one of the portable AC's on wheels that have long pipe to chanel away the heat... this way I don't have to cut any holes in the wall.

Faisal
