PostSubject: Blue Iris Painting   Fri Feb 08, 2013 1:09 am

This week I got a new computer which has a swivel screen so you can turn it and flatten it into a tablet form. I got a trial version of Painter Lite, a downgrade from my Painter 12, just to test out the tablet. Now it is really beginning to feel like you are painting on canvas, because you apply the stylus directly to the painting screen....really neat. It could use a few revisions, but I'm just learning this program and miss all the bells and whistles that Painter 12 has,

Judy

That sounds like a really fancy computer & even with a lite version of Painter, you did a good job on the iris. Can you add your full Painter version to the new computer? Have fun with it even if you can't!

Thanks guys. I ended up purchasing the full version instead of the Lite version. It just gives me so much more control of what I do.

The blue iris came out so well, Faisal, that I'm tempted to co it on canvas with WSO's. With all the kinks worked out, it shouldn't be hard to do. The biggest challenge was doing a background that I liked. It took 4 tries before I came up with this one and I'm really pleased with it.

You are really capturing a painterly feel with the stylus. And I LOVE your signature on this iris painting.

I guess I'm going to have to keep my word and get ou the paint brushes.
The biggest advantage of the computer is that you can write a good signature on your work. I find it very difficult with a paintbrush. This was done with a "very drippy pen" brush and I adjusted the ink flow to give a more pronounced thick/thin line.
