So here is another flower in a vase. I am finding flowers to be challenging. I kept saying to myself that just paint shapes, just paint shapes and so here it is. I had to wipe the canvas and redo the whole thing because I was not happy with the flower. (oops where is the horizon... ?)

I have returned to Canvas instead of a gessoed panel. I like the way that the paint moves on the Canvas.

All feedback are welcome... Smile

Size: 5" x 7" Canvas
Time taken: Too long, had to redo the flower etc.... Smile

That horizon question is always a problem. With the fact that there is a vase, you probably really do need some indication of flat surface going back to a vertical surface. Leave out the vase and you don't have to worry about it. but then how do you make an interest background to accent the flower? I give you credit for your persistence.

Another flower to sigh over! Have you ever heard of Helen Van Wyk? She's dead now but I love the way she paints flowers - they're realistically painterly! lol
