Canvas was prepped with 3 coats of black acrylic gesso sanding between layers. I sketched the image with a white chalk pencil and laid down a thin layer of Cobra Titianium White. I decided to try this first painting without any medium/oil added. I love the buttery quality of the Cobra as it can be 'pushed' around the canvas with ease. I paint in thin layers so the quick drying time is a terrific bonus.

Hello GKnee,

This came out really nice. I may have to try the Cobra myself... Smile

Take Care

Gknee, very nice! I found the Cobras to be the way you describe them too. Great to see your work!

Very well done. A difficult subject to tackle. Black canvases are always a unique experience but are very visually effective when taking advantage of the darks.
