Another 6" x 6" in Cobra paint, my first working with that brand. On MDF, primed with 3 coats gesso. Limited palette of 5 tubes: Titanium white, Yellow, Red, Blue, and Raw Umber. This one still needs the dune grass along the top, some wooden fencing, and some fine tuning of the sand, but I am enjoying the adventure.

It looks great. I love the way you have done the rocks. How do you like the Cobras after using W/N all the time?

Hi
Thanks for the comments, Judy and Crystal1. I actually like the Cobras a lot. They mix well, and have a very good painting consistency right out of the tube. They seem to dry a little slower than the Artisans, which takes a little getting used to. I will likely continue to use them.

The consistency ws one of the things that I really liked about the Cobras.

Hi Alan,

I love this painting. The first impression is what counts and it did it for me. It looks complete at this stage. I like the freshness and un-belaboured look. Wonderful.

Did you prepare the Gessoed MDF board yourself or did you buy it?

Faisal

Hi Faisal
Thanks for the comments. The painting does look complete, you're right! But I will press on, as the grass was what caught my eye originally. This is a view from about 20 minutes drive from here, but it took a whole year to get it from my photo to the MDF board. I purchased a large piece of it, cut it to smaller panels, then gessoed several panels by hand. I give them 3 coats, front and back, sanding after each coat. A labour of love, I suppose...
