Hello! I just discovered you when looking for information on varnishing and glazing with WSO - I'm excited to connect. I did some oil painting way way back in college and since then have mostly done calligraphy, (though it became more and more painterly) - up to and including teaching at international lettering arts conferences (see www.JoanMerrell.com)
Just started back into oils and I'm having a great time - I tried adding two photos of my first oils in years, but I don't think it worked. Guess I should re-read the instructions Smile
OK, got it --- the tulips are 8x8 inches and shamelessly copied from a little photo in the index of Better Homes and Gardens, the mountain is 16x20 and from photos my brother and I took in Utah around Christmas, both done in class with local teacher Renee Nilges. Currently working on more 8x8 flowers from my own photos for a "garden series"
I live in mid-Missouri.

Hi Joan,

Welcome to the forum. I hope the instructions for loading helped. I should put a statement in saying that if you click the "Host and Image" button and do not have an account, it will ask yo to register first and then follow the instructions from there. I didn't see the pictures in this post but I'll see if you put them some where else.

I've included links to "varnish" and "glazing" that you may be interested in.
