Click on the following link to view a tutorial (in PDF) on how to straighten images using Photoshop (Click Here).   As this is a 20MB file, it will take some time to load and display.   Below is an illustration showing the type of straightening that can be accomplished.   Below that is a synopsis of the Photoshop steps the tutorial will guide you through.   I've already found and corrected a couple of boo-boos in the original tutorial Embarassed Laughing.   If you find problems, or if something isn't clear, please feel free to reply with your comments.

Jim

Thanks Jim,

Your PDF step by step presentation is very clear and precise. I like the fact that it is easy to scroll through to help clarify points from earlier frames.

Hello ,
I wonder if this technique would help me recover a picture of a person hanging on a wall at an angle in a photo of some other subject ( a photo of a group with the picture I want to recover in the backgound appearing long and thin )

I would suggest opening the picture and then saving it under a different name so you can experiment on the duplicate without altering the original. I would take the select tool and box in around the picture you want to straighten and crop out everything else. Then you could try to straighten the picture using the process Jim describes here. Good luck with it and also "Welcome to the Forum."
