For September we'll be Putting it in Perspective

Accurate perspective is vital for realistic paintings. If the perspective is wonky, the painting just won't "read" right.
If you've been wanting to brush up on your perspective knowledge, here you go.....

To start, here's a link to some basic perspective info and examples:
http://www.how-to-draw-and-paint.com/perspective-drawing.html

You'll find good examples of one, two and three point perspective here:
http://www.artyfactory.com/perspective_drawing/perspective_index.htm

(mouse over the examples to see the objects)

And let's not forget aerial (atmospheric) perspective:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerial_perspective

I'll be adding some photo examples below. You can use them for inspiration, or choose your own subject.

Here's an example of 1 point perspective:

Consider 1, 2 or 3 point perspective for these pics:

Yellow tulips by "leaf" on WC

You may also choose your own subject, be it plein air, still life, a portrait, anything that gives you an opportunity to use one, two or three point perspective when planning your painting.

Good choices, Callie. I'm still trying to get one done for August. Can't believe it is September all ready.

Judy
