| This is a picture I took July 4th and have just gotten around to starting the painting. I cropped the picture so it fits on a 30 x 15 inch canvas. I've only gotten a chance to do some under painting of the sky, water and some grass right now the colors are cobalt blue and sap green. I have started it with acrylics and will do more detailed areas in WS oils. The power line will not be in it. Judy | |

| This could make for a really nice painting.. both the dock and the chairs bringing the eye into the painting centre. Interesting horizontal format, quite low and wide. Off to a good start, Judy! | |

| Thanks Sophie and Alan, I made some progress yesterday. I keep getting side tracked. It must be the time of year. Once I get into it, I get lost in it and don't keep track of time, but getting started always seems to be a push. Maybe once I get all the white areas filled in it won't be a so bad. That isn't usually a problem for me but for some reason this time it is. judy | |

| thanks Callie,
Wait till I get the pontoon boats in. They are so great for leisurely riding around the river...quiet and easy to move around on. I man I went out with a few years after my husband died had one and it was really nice.
Back to work. Judy | |

| I may put some in in the distance but not up front. I'll probably add a few minimally descriptive sea gulls or Canada Geese in the distance since they are usually someplace to found.

| I don't know where the summer has gone. Pretty soon I'll have to paint the trees yellows and oranges instead of greens. I'm still plodding along working on the acrylic underlay. I think the biggest area that will be WSO's is the water reflections. You can't beat the blending you can get with the WSO's compared to acrylics. Here's the latest progress picture. Lots of detail, but it is coming. Judy | |

| Looking good good good. Your last post popped an idea into my head. How about four paintings of the same scene, Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. From the lush greens of summer, to autumnal colours, snow and ice with skaters and small boys throwing snowball, then onward to Spring with daffodils sprouting. Sometimes I wax poetic. | Jack the idea is great, but I head out of here for warmer weather come October. It gets to 30 below "0" here inn the winter so I don't hang around. I go where the average temperature for winter is 60 degrees and sunny. Winter is out but spring and fall is a possibility depending on when the leaves change and when they start up again. Thanks for the idea though.
