| I've just had some correspondence with Alan about retouch varnish. The stuff I use is Artist standard even though it came with my first ever Artisan order. This is my reply to Alan 'Alan I owe you a huge apology. When I first discovered Artisan i order everything in a big parcel. Special brushes, paints, through to varnishes. I was very excited to escape from the turpentine used by other artists. One of the items was the re-touch varnish and you are quite right it is not specifically water soluble. Cos it was the same descript bottle I did not bother reading the label. And cos i apply the varnish away from my studio it did not have any offensive odour in that location. Again my apologies. I don't know if you involve yourself with 'Wet Canvas' but they did an informative article on the subject. Best wishes Jack' | |
