| I'm in the process of deciding about what I want to purchase in WSOs, so it's mostly research for now.
My goal to to feel like I am painting safely in a new exhibit environment I should have next year; while I'm there, I'll also demo, so I don't want smells or toxins, because it's near a cafeteria and food court.
I am leaning toward Van Gogh H2Oils, as they seem to fit the bill.

| Hi Bonnie! Welcome to the forum! Jump rite in.... we don't bite! WSOs are a wise choice when working in a public place and/or enclosed area. Many art classes are switching to WSOs due to the lack of proper ventilation. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions regarding WSOs. You can post your questions in the Questions & Answers section of the forum. | |

| Hi Bonnie, I see you are ahead of me. I just sent you PM in the other forum inviting you here. I hope you'll find it valuable. I also checked out the links to the ASPCA. You got it just right about Mozart. Welcome. Judy | |

| Thank you both very much!
I have my shopping cart at Dick Blick all ready for that final click. I haven't bought a new set of anything in quite a while.

| I have the opposite problem I buy everything. No self restraint. It might be a good thing that I don't have a decent art store locally. I'm glad you took the leap.

| Space is the big issue. I just don't have more room for paintings, art supplies, framing, etc, unless I put my son out to pasture! That said, someone is buying me a haul of pastels for the holidays. It's so very considerate, but I'm now eying that corner in my son's room!
I'm very lucky to have three decent art supply stores within about 25 miles. With DC traffic, sometimes that might as well be 100 miles, though. I only go to any of them if I'm in the neighborhood and I know it's hit or miss to get exactly what I want and quite probable that I get something I don't (or really, really, really, really!) need.

| I especially have some pastels like that, as I've done them longer. Thing with them is that the paper is reusable AFTER YOU CLEAN IT! Not only is that labor intensive, it is messy and toxic. And so it goes. I can't throw away perfectly good stuff, but I'm not cleaning it either. So I store it. | |

| At can't imagine what it would be like to try and clean a paper with pastel on it to reuse it. I worked with pastel for a short while. I couldn't handle the pastel dust. | |
