Shan't be posting pics for while cos I'm setting out to paint four works in my new pristine set of Acrylics. I'm following a theme of rally cars, a totally different topic for me.
I shall keep visiting though and will add my pennyworth where appropriate.

Jack, Acrylics is certainly no a dirty word. Smile Most of us have worked in acrylics or still do. The forum "Water Mixable Mix-Up" is especially for other mediums including acrylics and we would love to see your art in acrylics and I'm very interested in learning more about the interactive acrylics or methods with regular acrylics as well. Smile

Jack you are a very good artist and I would love to see and hear about your work with the Interactive Acrylics. Oil paints have always been my love, and I've been afraid to try other mediums that might confuse me when using oils, but the new Interactive Acrylics sound like they might be able to be used the same as oils. I would appreciate any information you could give to us on it. Thanks.

Thanks Dayle and Janet. It's nice to know that I can slide an occasional acrylic in under 'mix up'.
I got the Mitch Waite dvd on interactives and, as usual, he makes it look easy I go out of my way to make it difficult. I will persevere though cos, the colours are quite brilliant and outstanding.
Anyway enough for now, back to the easel. No, sorry got the shopping to do at the supermarket, will get some more walnut oil.

I agree. I have started painting with acrylics on my Tuesday night painting group as I need something that is very portable and dries quickly. Just because the medium changes shouldn't matter - there is a lot more to painting than just that element

It's not uncommon for some of us oil painters to start a painting with acrylics then switch to oils to finish it off. I've been trying out some Golden Open acrylics; they dry a little slower than regular acrylic paints, so they're easier to blend - not such a big change from working with oils. They seem like a really good plein-air option to me.

Jack,

I'm sure 90% of us use all different media so don't be afraid to show your work other than WS oils. we're here to teach, learn and share no matter what the media.

Thanks for your comment on Golden Opens. I was getting a bit frustrated tonight painting water with acrylics - even using extender, I couldn't get any blending.

I really like the Open Acrylics because they reactivate for blending simply by re-wetting them on the canvas or palette. I just take a damp brush and start blending on the canvas as the acrylic becomes more workable again.
