| I hope nobody minds. This is an old one but I received a lot comments on Flickr that they find it educational so I thought I would share it here. One thing I was wondering about is whether I could use this process with oils. I would like to move up to bigger canvas at some point but obviously I can't finish it in one session. | What a great sequence of steps from back to front. It was amazing to follow. Thanks.
I see no reason why you can't do the same thing inn WS oils. Actually it makes it easier because you almost always have a "dry foreground to balance off of.

| Callie and Judy, I'm glad you liked it! I have one in mind that I want to do. I need to finish the challenge portrait and then I want to do one of my daughter. After those are finished I think I'll give a bigger painting a try with either a toned canvas like this maybe in a neutral gray or grisaille done in steps like this and the overpainting done in sections like this one. Thank you for your help! _______________________________________________ Janet http://janet-coloredpencil.blogspot.com/ |
