First Time in Seattle Empty
PostSubject: First Time in Seattle   First Time in Seattle EmptyFri Oct 15, 2010 11:05 pm

Really the first time Plein Air Painting on my own....I went to Discovery Park, a huge place and not been there befofre, so didn't know where to go and paint. I packed up all my things - huge backpack on my back and carrying my essal...trucked up the hill so I could find some light as there is so many trees there. Marcia Burtt said that she really doesn't think she'd like to paint here as it is so green and not much else.....but I went up the steep hill to find some light and maybe some trees turning some fall colors.

Not sure if I like Painting out doors...I love the out doors, but I struggle with capturing the light and all...I will just have to keep trying and after a while maybe I can have a solid opinion to base my decission if I really do or don't enjoying it. It is nice to be out side, just wish there were bathrooms around.

Here is the painting I did after hiking for about 30 to 40 mins. to find something I felt I could paint. I should put it in the section called Down the Drain'''''

Dana - having tried plein air myself once, I am very impressed. You did capture the light and i love the freshness. Congrats.

Wow! You did such a wonderful job on this painting. Love the colors. How could you possibly think about putting it in "Down the Drain". If you don't want it, I'll take it.

Dana,

It is beautiful. The lines are clean, the lighting through the trees is perfect and I love the fall leaves below center. I'm more impressed with yours than I was with my first plein air. I solve the bathroom problem by always going someplace where I can park my small RV close by. Laughing

Dana - this painting is lovely. The trees look natural and you've got great light. Don't flush it!
