| While in Australia I painted a square 12x12 canvas of the Lily Pilly tree in fruit, but I gifted it to my friend who orgainsed my art show. I decided to paint a similar painting, only from a different reference photo and a different shape. This one is 18"x12". I used a pre-used canvas. I had painted it about 2 months ago and I was still able to wash most of the paint off. I used a kitchen scrubbie to get off the resilient bits. The canvas was stained with patchy colour and I painted a light wash over it using artisan Cadmium yellow hue mixed with a bit of magenta. This gave me a nice warm background to work on, which will show through in places on the finished painting. The colours I am primarily using in this painting are Prussian blue, Cadmium yellow pale hue, Magenta, and a bit of Naples Yellow, Yellow ochre, and Cadmium yellow hue, and titanium white. I did my drawing with water colour pencils. What you see here is about an hour's work. I love my studio space because there is so much natural light from all the windows. | |

| Love your new painting, and I sure wish I had all those windows. (Except when it's time to wash them). Dayle | |
