Hi! I live in southern CA with my husband of 35+ years and our dog. I've been painting with water soluble oils for about 6 months. I've been watercoloring for 4 years and while it is my first love, WSOils are quickly gaining ground and are a very close second! For some reason, I'm having a difficult time uploading my most recent painting. Can't find the URL -- I KNOW I've done this before!! Shocked

Hi Brenda,
Welcome to the forum. We are very new and working out kinks. Loading a picture has a little different procedure

I had to load my image from my disc to servimg.com using the picture icon above with the save disc in front of it and then copy the url it created from the html choice "show picture to friends". I pasted that code into the body of my note where I wanted it to appear. It is a little confusing because you have to signup for servimg.com which is free before you can store the images.

I'm going to explore this more and write a sticky with instructions to help new people as they join.

If I can help some more, let me know.

Hi Brenda! Welcome to the forum! Another way to post an image is is to select the image tool (looks like a landscape with a tree) above the text box right click on your photo on the web, select properties, select the Address (URL) copy and past it into the field in the image tool and select ok. Sorry just realized that the steps I offered before in another thread were missing select properties.

This is what the property screen looks like:

I used photobucket as the hosting site for this image. So photobucket is another option for free web hosting of images. Here's the link: http://photobucket.com/

Judy, Thank you so much for taking on the creating a sticky with the instructions. Your the best.

Judy and Janet,
Thanks for the replies!! For the life of me I couldn't find the URL for my image, and I KNOW I've done this before. I just looked and still can't get the URL to come up.
I will try later. . . yesterday I started an online class called "Artists Journaling" and I haven't even had time yet to read the first lesson that I printed out! Too much to do and too little time - Laughing
Btw, thanks for setting this new group up and for inviting me! I got frustrated with the "other" group and haven't even browsed over there for a while. I still like the Watercolor and Watermedia forums, though.

Hi Brenda,

Sounds like a facinating coure.

Janet and I have given you two different approaches. The distinction is:

1. If you want to load a picture from your computer that you do not all ready have on the web, then you use the procedure I talked about.

2. If you have a picture all ready published on the web, such as your web site or blog or someplace else, it will all ready have a url address which you can find as Janet described and you can copy that from the properties page.

Test this out by Right Clicking my signature below. On the menu that comes up, pick Properties at the bottom and you will see the Address: (URL) for that picture.

I'll be working on the sticky in the mean time.

Hi Brenda,

I got a cance to look at your blog and enjoyed the pictures and the nanrrative. I didnt' get a chance to look at flicker, but I did check out your food link. Made me so hungry, I had to stop and eat dinner. Looks like some pretty good old recipes I'll have to try.

Judy,
My flickr has pretty much the same "stuff" as my blog. I do post sketches to my flickr that aren't on the blog. I haven't worked on my food blog in quite some time, and really want to. . . too many other things seem to get in the way! This year I started teaching a home ec cooking class one night a week and that seems to put the food blog back on my brain! I see that you live part time in southern AZ, I grew up in Bisbee. We left there in 1967, but was back there as recently as 1992 -- it's MUCH more touristy now, but still lots of beautiful scenery. When we lived there it was a working mining town.

Hi Brenda,
I think we talked about Bisbee one other time on the other forum. I'm enjoying the wonderful weather we have right now. It is just perfect.

I'm glad to see you got your links into you signature now. Ahh, yes a remember those pictures you posted of the fire. I like your journal idea. I've never done one bu maybe I should since I travel so much. I tend to use my camera instead.

Judy,
I've tried and failed numerous times to keep a journal. I'm hoping the class I'm taking now will finally help me "catch" the desire and drive!
Oh yes, I do remember discussing Bisbee with you before! The net sure makes the world smaller.
