| I was in a rush to make it to a meeting and forgot all about taking a pic. I'll get one tomorrow in the morning. But I didn't finish it - probably one more session to go. | |

| Good morning all just stopping by to say hi. I have been painting now that its warmer and my studio is not an ice box but I have been working on acrylics and clay so nothing much to show. I am not sure if I will make it out to paint today waiting for the geek from best buy then have errands to do. Why does life always get in the way of my art!!!! I did get the portrait sketched and will transfer it to a canvas for the challenge hopefully this weekend. I loved everyone’s work and I am in awe that you guys can get so much done, I wish I could paint faster!!! I got a cool picture that I will post in the reference library, its of a cardinal in flight, its kind of blurry as my lens is not very good but I think its usable as a reference for a painting. Have a great day all | |

| It appears that not everything is fully up but coming back gradually. I'll keep an eye on it. Sorry everyone for the inconvenience but they're working on it. | |

| I am looking forward to working on my painting this weekend. Does anyone else find it difficult not to want to have 5 paintings on the go at once? | |

| I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your work on your painting this weekend. It's really quite a treat to watch you work on your wonderful panting. Five paintings on the go at once... Wow I couldn't do that. I'd get so confused as to what colors I was using, where I was up to etc. etc. I just do one at a time but I don't really work in layers and when I have its been two layers. Who knows maybe some day I'll stop my marathon painting ways. How many do you have on the go rite now? | |

| Right now I only have the one on the canvas. I was working on about five at a time since July to complete 10 paintings for the art show in December. I thought I would be burnt out but I am so "pumped". My husband thinks that the Winter Scene looks like my best yet so i am very encouraged. I will take picture of what I did yesterday and post it. But this afternoon is a sunny but cool day and i am going to try an experiment - paint the snow and sky from my back deck. I am not going to paint a piece of art but really study the color of the sky, snow and trees. | |

| OK This was my effort at painting plein air. How about cold air. I appreciate Chantal's winter painting excusions. At least I could pop into my house. Excuse the painting outfit. but it was warm | |

| You're a brave soul, but don't you just love the crisp clear blue of a winter sky. It looks like you have captured it pretty well, despite the cold.

| With that much snow on the ground, I don't blame you for staying on the deck. I got outside today for a few hours. Most of the snow here has melted and it got above freezing, so I met up with the plein air group to paint by one of the lakes at Forest Park. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_Park_%28St._Louis,_Missouri%29 My painting didn't work out so well, but it was a nice day to be outside. Time to go find some lunch... | |

| Dale, Looks like the plein air painting went well! I know what you mean about the cold... I don't know how Chantal does it. Callie, wow Forest Park is a beautiful location! Certainly great inspiration for a painter. Are you going to be working on that painting more or is one of the just move onto the next one paintings? | |

| Well, I'm tempted to touch it up some. Either that or scrape it off! This is one of the painters in the plein air group (and a scene from Forest Park - my attempt at that was not successful): http://www.mshawncornellstudio.com/paintings/C3/143/P0 I was painting a few yards away from him today - so I could see his painting, then look back at mine. The stuff he scrapes/wipes off, I'd be glad to hang on my wall! | |

| I'm back from my trip and trying to get caught up! Callie - I visited one of my sons and daughter in law and 1 year old granddaughter. I took my 3 year old grandson with me. Had a great time. The ground was all snowy but it was above freezing all the time and sunny. We went to the Calgary Zoo, I took pics along the Bow River trail that could turn into a painting, and I got some good deals on art supplies at the store my son works at. Bought some of that walnut alkyd medium so I'll have to go back to the other forum to read up on how to use it. Dale - you did a good job catching the snow and shadows! | |
