| These two abstracts were based on the same sketch i did from a close =up of a photo of a succulent plant. The first was done in Painter 2015 using an oil, worn bristle brush to give all the lines in the flowers. I put in a black background that had texture and small areas of another color. (see below) | |

| I love the way black backgrounds make the flowers pop. | |

| The second version was done in two different paint programs. The flower was done using watercolor in Rebelle. This program seems to duplicate real watercolor better than Paint. It is still a relatively new program, but I was excited to see how beautifully the watercolors worked. I saved it to a jpeg and then put it into Painter 2015 to do the background and add more textures and effects. | |

| Would really call these abstracts? The design is recognizable as a plant although I thought of a flower at first. I like them both but really like the second one - so much so that I had to go look up the software! | |

| If you want to play with watercolor, Rebelle is really fun. In class, we were sort of basing our abstracts on how Georgia O'Keefe did many of hers doing flower closeups. | |

| I like the pastel watercolour treatment of the second image, which is really nice! Something about the colour combo is really grabbing me on that one! | |

| It is how colors blend in watercolor when you allow them to, that really attracts me to watercolor. I'm hoping to improve and become relly free and creative with them. | |

| Like the effects Judy. I like the second one, the watercolor looks like the real water color. | |

| With this new Rebelle program, it feels so much like real watercolors. You have so much control of the flow that you can even tilt the virtual canvas as the paint flows just as if you had the real watercolor paper in your hand and were tilting it to direct the flow. | |
