Painting #98: Plein Air (Allen, Texas)

Today was a nice cool morning. I spent 3 hours on this one in one of the local parks. I am beginning to have a renewed sense of appreciation for nature… I love it!

Please give me your feedback. No holding back…

I really like the composition on this one. The grey (sky?) reflected in the water on the far left tends to distract me, maybe it could be filled in with the dark tree reflection. That way my eye does not get so curious about the jagged grey area.
I love the foreground right, it is a gorgeous mix of colour.
The shadow of the bridge is quite a strong (dark blue?), could be muted a little to lessen its saturation.

I love the foreground with its mix of colors. I think the background trees would be better if grayed down a bit in a lighter value to give the feel of more distance. They feel about equal to the bridge right now. Perhaps just a little light gray glaze over all of them when they are dry enough.

Yup! another fantastic feedback. I need to put a note in my easel about this. I keep forgetting about the ariel perspective,... till someone points it out to me... This is something I will definitely take care of in the next Plein Air. Thanks.

I like the composition and everything but it doesn't feel like a nice, summer day to me. I think you could warm up the colors a bit but that's just me. Art is always light against dark, warm against cool, etc. Also agree about the distant trees.

Another fantastic feedback... Yes! I see this too... Could it be that the morning shadows in the morning influenced me and I too was under a tree... But I definetly agree it is leaning on the cool side... Thanks...
