| I think painting a flower is the hardest. I have not mastered this yet. But I need to keep trying. | |

| Nice work Faisal. I like your choice of dark background too, it brings more drama to the flower petals. What size is this, is it another in the small painting series? | |

| It's really lovely, Faisal. I'll be honest and say I'm not fond of the composition but the rose itself is really, really pretty.
What reds did you use and what mixes did you use for the shading? They work so well together and it all came out shouting "red rose"!

| Thanks Jan. Yes! composition was not really the focus. Getting the rose to look good was the focus. I use Cad Red and Cad Red with Burnt Sienna for the darks with Titanium white… I believe that is it for the rose. Offcourse the details have all floated away now from memory... | |
